Come Enjoy a Run – Depart Quick & Safe

We have developed a comprehensive COVID-19 Safety Plan, in line with NSW Health requirements, to support our management of the risks associated with COVID-19.

Our plan includes the steps we are taking for the wellbeing of all involved through physical distancing, reducing points of contact, a focus on hygiene and cleaning and of course, contact tracing.

To achieve this, we have needed to make several changes to our 2021 Event.

Start Line and Course

The course remains unchanged from the last few years, however, to reduce congestion over the start line timing mats, we will move to a rolling /staggered start from a larger area for runners behind the start line.

We ask that you self-seed your start position based on your expected finish time. Your official time will be from when you cross the timing mats, start and finish.

Bibs must be shown at gate entry as part of our contact tracing process. Your details are taken at registration.

Drink Stations

This year we are introducing “touch free” drink stations and removing over 1000 throw away plastic cups from landfill. Water and sports drink will be available at about 5k, 10k, 15k.

Each registered runner will receive a flexible re-usable cup, at bib pick-up. This cup, or your own choice of personal drink device, can be taken with you during your run and our wonderful drink station volunteers will fill it for you.

There will be no plastic cups at any drink station. Please bring your choice of drink device.

Finish Line

Once over the finish line having achieved your goals, high fives and hugs are usually the celebration. Please not this year. But don’t forget to smile!

Finisher medals will be available for you to collect as you are about to quickly exit the finish area.

As usual a sealed bottle of water will be available as you exit. Whole bananas too!

Presentations

Podium Finishers – there will be a small presentation of prizes for each of the first three female and male 10k and Half Marathon finishers.

Lucky Draw Prizes – to meet the requirements of our COVID Safety Plan, unfortunately we will not be having lucky draw prizes this year.

Spectators

We understand that friends and family are an important part of celebrating your achievements. However, this year we ask you keep the numbers to a minimum and instead celebrate with everyone at home.

Spectators that do attend will be required to scan our QR code at the gate entrance and adhere to physical distancing.

Departure

We ask that runners and spectators depart as soon as possible after your finish. “Come enjoy a run – depart quick & safe” is the idea.

Of course, stay at home if unwell. There’s always next year!

Bib Collection

To collect your bib and flexible re-usable cup, you must bring your completed COVID-19 Declaration Form. Details will be emailed to you in the week prior to our event.

Collection will occur over three time periods:

  • Saturday morning, 1 May, 8:30am – 12:00pm the day before the event, outside the Bathurst RSL Club – this is the preferred bib collection time.
  • Saturday evening, 1 May 5:00pm – 7:00pm the evening before the event, inside the Bathurst RSL Club
  • Sunday morning of the event, 2 May, 8:00am – 8:30am, at the gate prior to entry to the race hub.
  • You can collect race bibs for others, but you must bring their completed COVID form.
