Following on from the success of the course changes in 2018, the Bathurst RSL Club Half and 10km we plan on continuing the same course in 2019. This will allow for greater spectator interaction through having runners complete a lap of the Rugby field at both the start and end of the event. Based on feedback, we have also been able to remove one of the short out and back sections that existed previously.
The changes allow us to retain our flat, fast course perfect for the first time runner, or for the experienced runner chasing that PB.
Starting at the Bathurst Rugby Club on Hereford Street, we run towards the Macquarie river and then pick up the eastern path along the scenic river. Runners then complete a route along the river lanes, out around the hockey fields, back along the lanes, before looping back to the start.
If you’ve run the Half Marathon event previously, it’s important to note that prior to finishing at the Rugby Club, you will complete a second loop of the eastern end of Hereford street, before returning to the finish. We expect to have marshalls at all critical points to direct runners to ensure you follow the correct route. Our map below provides more detail.
